Road aggression has nothing to do with gender. It can turn absolutely sane people – men or women – into road maniacs. Your own ability to control your provocation, your impulses, is your only saving grace. It may appear to occur more frequently with men, since there’s a greater number of a male driver on the road. When you are driving, you feel it’s a “my car versus your car” situation, and not a “me versus you” situation; which is why so many women today also exhibit symptoms of road rage and aggressive driving. And when you are driving, it is the power of the car that matter, not the size of your muscles. So it you’re struck with a driver who’s tailgating and swerving, or is trying his or her best to force you off the road, what do you do? And maybe you’re the lunatic, who knows? Always remember that while driving a defensive approach works best. This way, you will minimize any risk of injury to yourself or even worse, a serious crash.
